A key focus of AsiaEdu programs is capacity building in sectors and communities that provide sustainable employment and the skills needed to survive in Asia's changing economic environment. The focus is in two distinct areas: the first is to provide communities that have been traditionally excluded (i.e. rural communities, women, the disabled) with the skills and means to participate in life enriching, self-determined, and sustainable vocations; the second is to promote a variety of skills training, along with the growth of technological resources. Special priority is placed on technological skills training (i.e. basic computer/office skills, typing, internet skills, advanced applications and programming) in communities that have been largely excluded from information technology, resources and, services. |
