APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE ASIA FOREIGN
STUDY SCHOLARSHIP (HARBIN INSTITUTE OF
TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM-CHINA)
The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship (Harbin Institute of Technology Program-China) is a full scholarship program donated to Education Forum for Asia by Harbin Institute of Technology. The China Scholarship Council (CSC) administers the recruitment and the routine management of the Program.
2 full scholarships are provided for the 2006/2007 academic year.
1. Categories of Applicants, Duration of Scholarship, and Language of Instruction
1) This program only sponsors graduate students pursuing an MBA at Harbin Institute of Technology.
2) The scholarship will be valid for a period of two years.
3) All classes will be taught in English.
2. Application
Applicants should apply to Education Forum for Asia via the Chinese embassy in their home country or the embassy of their home country in China. Applications will be accepted from the beginning of January to the beginning of April.
3. Eligibility
1) Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2) Applicants for MBA must have a Bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
4. Details of the Scholarship
1) Free tuition (or research) and accommodation.
2) This program also covers basic medical care.
3) A monthly living allowance of RMB 600 will be provided to students by Harbin Institute of Technology.
5. Application Materials
All applicants must provide the following materials correctly and truthfully.
1) Application Form for Asia Foreign Study Scholarship (printed by Education Forum for Asia), one original and one photocopy, in Chinese or English.
2) A notarized copy of highest diploma and academic record. If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide verification documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations. Transcripts (notarized copy); transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations.
3) Senior scholars must submit two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by two professors or associate professors.
4) A study or research plan written in Chinese or English (no less than 400 words).
5) A photocopy of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form (only for those whose period of study in China lasting over six months) filled out in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital or a stamped photograph of the applicant will be considered invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration when determining the time to take the medical examination.
The abovementioned materials should be received by the CSC via Education Forum for Asia by April 30th. Application materials will not be returned regardless whether the applicants are accepted or not.
6. Approval and Notification
1) The CSC will review all application materials. The application will be considered invalid and will not be processed if the applicants are not qualified, the application materials are inconsistent with the recruitment regulations, or materials are incomplete.
2) Finalized placements, specialties and duration of study are, in principle, not to be changed.
3) The CSC will have the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study In China (JW201) sent to Education Forum for Asia and forwarded to the applicant by July 31st .
