The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship - Shandong University Program is a partial scholarship program donated to Education Forum for Asia by Shandong University. The Organizing Committee of Education Forum for Asia and Shandong University co-administer the recruitment and the routine management of the program.
There are 3 partial scholarships and 2 full scholarships provided for students from Asia-Pacific countries for the 2014-2015 academic year.
Categories of Applicants, Duration of Scholarship, and Languages of Instruction
This program sponsors bachelor, master and doctoral applicants for the duration of one academic year;
Courses will be taught in Chinese without any language requirement for applicants;

Application
Applicants can apply directly to Education Forum for Asia, through the Chinese Embassy in the host country, or through their own embassy in China to Education Forum for Asia;
The deadline for all applications is June 30th, 2014.
Eligibility
Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
Applicants for bachelor programs must have completed at least senior high school studies and be under the age of 45.
Applicants for master and doctoral programs must have respectively bachelor and master diploma and be under the age of 50.
Education Forum for Asia will enroll on the basis of competitive selection.
Details of the Scholarship
The partial scholarship program covers tuition fees. The students will be responsible for all other expenses (These expenses include entry fee 400 RMB, single-room accommodation for overseas students, 40-70 RMB/day, food expenses 9,000 RMB/year in general, intercity travel and other incidental expenses of 6,000 RMB/year, and insurance expenses of 600 RMB/year).
The full scholarship program covers tuition fee, entry fee and lodging fee. The students will be responsible for the rest expenses. (These expenses include food expenses 9,000 RMB/year in general, intercity travel and other incidental expenses of 6,000 RMB/year, and insurance expenses of 600 RMB/year).
Application Materials
All Applicants must provide the following materials filled in correctly and truthfully.
Shandong University Overseas Student Application Form (see Attachment 1 or access http://www.ipo.sdu.edu.cn ), one original and one photocopy, in Chinese or English.
A notarized copy of the students’ highest diploma and academic records. If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide verification documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have translations in Chinese or English.
A study plan written in English which shall be no less than 200 words.
The Foreigner Physical Examination Form (see Attachment 2) filled out in English. The medical examinations must cover all the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of a hospital or a stamped photograph of the applicant will be considered invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration when determining the time to take the medical examination.

The abovementioned materials should be received by the Education Forum for Asia, at the latest, by May 20, 2014. Application materials will NOT be returned regardless of whether the applicant is accepted or not.
Approval and Notification
Education Forum for Asia will review all application materials from the appointed authorities and is authorized to make necessary adjustments on the applied institutions, disciplines and duration of study. Education Forum for Asia will directly contact the applicant or the applicant guarantor whenever necessary. Qualified applications will be forwarded to Shandong University and the final decision whether to admit the applicants or not will be made. The application will be seen as invalid and will not be processed if the application materials are inconsistent with recruitment regulations, or materials are incomplete.
Finalized placements, disciplines and duration of study are, in principle, not to be changed.
Education Forum for Asia will have the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) sent to the applicant within a week after the documents are received.
