AsiaEDU News Flash

Education Forum for Asia is an NGO that, since its origin in 2003, has been devoted to building bridges of communication in order to improve education throughout Asia and beyond. EFA is engaged in granting many scholarships to students throughout Asia each year, connecting different education groups in order to facilitate mutually beneficial exchanges, and increasing dialogue among many high level groups in order to assist in the development of education. Canadian Interest in Mandarin Increasing Rapidly

 
Students throughout Canada are beginning to enroll in Mandarin courses at an increasing rate. Many of the students view Mandarin as an opportunity to get better jobs, while parents of younger children are also encouraging Mandarin lessons. For more information, click here.

 

 

 
Hong Kong Grads Willing to Work in Mainland
 
A recent surveyed showed that the majority of graduates in Hong Kong were interested in finding jobs on the mainland, citing Shanghai as their #1 preferred destination with Beijing trailing behind in 2nd place. For more information, click here.

 

 

Cambodia’s Education Improving in Leaps and Bounds

The recent expansion in education over the past few years has resulted in a rapid increase in the literacy rate among both urban and rural communities throughout the poverty stricken nation as they begin to have a more and more hopeful attitude moving into the future. UNESCO Week at the Shanghai World Expo Holds Lifelong Learning Forum

The forum organized by UNESCO and the Minister of Education in China will offer a platform for all the member countries to share their views and learning on creating an educational system and society. For more details, click here.

 

     

Conference to tackle gender gap and give impetus to girls’ education

The E4 conference, headed by UNESCO, has the goal of exploring ways to bring greater equality to education for girls and ways to prepare the education systems for climate change, health concerns and violence. For more information, click here.

 

       

Forum Promoting Nepal-China Education Exchange Enjoys Great Success
