Education Forum for Asia is an NGO that, since its origin in 2003, has been devoted to building bridges of communication in order to improve education throughout Asia and beyond. EFA is engaged in granting many scholarships to students throughout Asia each year, connecting different education groups in order to facilitate mutually beneficial exchanges, and increasing dialogue among many high level groups in order to assist in the development of education. $629m USD Being Earmarked for Rural Schools

Following the recent trend of improving central and western China’s economies, a large amount of money has been set aside by the government for the purpose of improving the facilities in primary and secondary schools in China’s economically ‘weaker’ areas.   $6 Million USD School Built for Rural Children

A school built for students in a remote area of Hunan province has drawn attention from many tourists and other onlookers. The luxurious school was built to enable these children to have more opportunity to obtain a higher education. For more information, click here.

As educators around China are seeking solutions to the problems of stifling creativity and nurturing greater numbers of students in the education process, they are still struggling to find solutions that can have a true and effective impression on the current system. Chinese Students are the Most Stressed Out in the World

A recent study has shown that the student population of China has the greatest percentage of students feeling stress. Reportedly, 86% of Chinese students feel stressed. The causes of this stress were parents and the students themselves. For more information, click  here.

‘Right to Education’ Law Passed in India

A recent law was passed in India making education compulsory for all children between the ages of 6 and 14. The new legislation will benefit 10s of millions of children throughout India. Plans are made to train over 1 million new teachers over the next 5 years. For more information, click here.

 

Many Unsatisfied With Education Reforms

New education reforms in the United States are being dubbed as Bush era style and are said to make the problem increasingly worse. Many believe the program will take more funding away from the schools that truly need it. For more information, click here.

A craze called the human-flesh search engine has had extremely damaging effects on a few people’s lives. Netizens who feel someone has done something unfair and want to punish these people create online mobs that then seek out these people and destroy their lives. ‘Analects’ Video Put Together by Students

For the first time, the entirety of Confucious’s Analects has been put onto video. The project took 3 months to complete and consists of the Analects being read on the video and put into video dramatization. For more information, click here.
