In the noon of December 31st, 2013, Tajikistan Embassy to China presented 100 deluxe binding books on Tajik culture and art.
The book-presenting ceremony was held in the embassy where H.E. Mr. Rashid Alimov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary gifted the books to Mr. Yeo Wang, Secretary-General of Education Forum for Asia after they had cordial talks with each other. The presented books include The Reflection of Tajik Nation in the River of History by Tajik President, Emomali Rakhmonm, Tajikistan and China: Culture and Dialogue by the Ambassador and an exquisite album, Hereditary Ornamental Art of Tajikistan which contains over 700 pictures.
The Ambassador handed these books personally to Mr. Yeo Wang who expressed his sincere gratitude for the support Tajikistan provided for EFA and the books presented by Mr. Alimov. Mr. Yeo also said that he would send these books as gifts to EFA partner universities on scholarship program. On this meeting, he mentioned a conception of working together with Tajikistan Embassy to build a “Cultural Silk Road”, doing our own part for the construction of “New Silk Road” that links China and other Middle East countries.
According to the Ambassador, Tajikistan will be the rotating country of SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) next year, indicating that 2014 SOC Summit as well as the Education Minister Conference within the SOC framework will assemble in Tajikistan. The Ambassador emphasized the significance of education to the “New Silk Road” and expressed his wishes for a closer cooperation between the EFA and Tajikistan Embassy.
