On August 13, Ms. Li Qi, Echo Zhang and Phoebe Wang from Public Relations Department of Education Forum for Asia visited Embassy of Malaysia in China. Counselor Lim You Rang gave us a cordial reception and accepted our interview.
Counselor Lim talked about the similarities and differences between the education systems of China and Malaysia, the current situation and career prospects of Chinese students in Malaysia, advantages of studying in Malaysia and current situation and prospects of exchange andcooperation between universities and colleges in China and Malaysia. Counselor Lim also voiced his opinions about how to enlarge the influence of Malaysian universities in China. He also shared with us his own life experience, such as why he has chosen public diplomacy as his career path and what his understanding of Chinese culture is. During the interview, Counselor Lim repeatedly mentioned the safety issue of studying in Malaysia, stressed that Malaysia is a country with culture tolerance, moderate people and social stability and hoped that the image of Malaysia in China could be promoted by his endeavor and propaganda.
Though this interview, Education Forum for Asia Secretariat deepens understanding of the education system of Malaysia, sets the foundation for building bridges for Chinese and Malaysian education and facilitates the future education cooperation between China and Malaysia.
