Over 800 participants, including former heads of state and government officials from the Asia Pacific region and around the world, took attended the Opening Ceremony for Education Forum for Asia 2005, The First Haidian Education Fair, and The China International Vocational Education Development Forum.  China State Councilor Chen Zhili attended the ceremony and delivered the keynote address.  Also during the proceedings, Forum Initiators presented organizations contributing to the Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Program with certificates of recognition, as well as holding an awards ceremony for scholarship recipients.
