We cordially invite you to take part in the 2007 Education Forum for Asia Beijing Annual Conference---Euro Asia Education Cooperation Session held in Xi’an, China on Nov. 8 to 9. This event is co-hosted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Boao Forum for Asia and China Scholarship Council (CSC), organized by Education Forum for Asia Training Centre.

Education Forum for Asia 2007-- ‘Euro-Asia Education Cooperation Conference’ is to be held on November 9 during the Euro Asia Economic Forum – ‘Enhancing Pragmatic Cooperation for Common Development’.

Under the approval of the Chinese state council, the 2007 Euro Asia Economic Forum will be co-hosted by Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat, Shanghai Cooperation Organization Business Council (SCO Business Council), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), People’s Government of Shaanxi Province and China Development Bank (CDB), co-organized by Boao Forum for Asia and organized by Xi'an Municipal People's Government and The Institute of Beijing Contemporary World Development. This event will take place on 8-9 November 2007 in Xi’an, China with the theme: ‘Enhancing Pragmatic Cooperation for Common Development’. This year the organizing committee of the Euro Asia Economic Forum has recognized the valuable role of the Education Forum for Asia, in bringing together officials, experts and academics from all over the world to work for the advancement of Asia-Pacific education, by inviting the organization to host the Euro Asia Education Cooperation Session. Other parallel sessions will be held concurrently that will involve discussions in relation to cooperation in Finance, Tourism, and Energy as well as a Roundtable Meeting of Governors and Mayors.

200 Delegates from the 6 member states and 4 observer states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be in attendance as well as education officials, education experts and corporate representatives of the countries concerned. Discussions this year will focus on issues relating to: the establishment of a Euro – Asia Education Cooperation and Consultation Mechanism; the initiation of the Euro-Asia Education Fund; transnational language training; regional cooperation in the opening up of the Asian education market; the role of enterprises in the education industry, mutual recognition of academic degrees and exchange programs, and discussion on the establishment of economic study courses among universities of Asian countries.
