Over A hundred of Universities attending the Summit
Chengdu Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit of Elite Universities & the Presidents’ Forum (Summit)was held in Chengdu Century City New International Convention and Exhibition Center on May 10, attracting over a hundred of heads of universities and colleges from both China and abroad, including US, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, Italy, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Israel, Japan, Macao. A total of 500 delegates who are world’s top experts in innovation and entrepreneurship, university and college teachers teaching innovation and entrepreneurship, students from universities in Chengdu, main media gathered together, under the summit theme of “A shared Future through Innovation”, to discuss how to solve the bottleneck problems in innovation and entrepreneurship, and to share their ideas and experience in cultivating innovative talents.
The Summit was supervised by Ministry of Education, organized by China Association of Higher Education,The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China and the People’s Government of Chengdu municipality, and sponsored by Education Forum for Asia Training Center, Education Bureau of Chengdu Municipality, co-sponsored by Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Branch of China Association of Higher Education.

The Summit was presided over by YAO Wang, Senior advisor of Baoao Forum for Asia, Secretary General of Education Forum for Asia, JI Ping, vice chairman of China Association of Higher Education, former deputy director of Department of Development Planning, Ministry of Education, CHEN Hao, vice chairman of China Association of Higher Education, secretary-general of The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Education Alliance of China. TIAN Rong, Member of the Standing Committee of Chendu Municipality, and vice mayor of Chengdu Municipality, QU Zhenyuan, chairman of China Association of Higher Education delivered a speech. The delegates, delivering an inspiring keynote speech or participating in the roundtable dialogues, expounded the cultivating of innovation and entrepreneurship in universities at the times of globalization, the close connection between society and economy, and shed thought-provoking light on the hot issues, such as “Internet+Innovation and entrepreneurship education in universities” “curriculum system of innovation and entrepreneurship education in universities”.
The Entrepreneurial Colleges & Universities Dialogue Summit, one of the sessions of the Conference, has been held over the last two years and has gained great support from the Ministry of Education and Chengdu Municipality. With the brainstorm it stirred among the experts from universities and colleges, the Summit will surely play a positive role in promoting and strengthening the innovation and entrepreneurship education in Chinese universities.
