In association with China Youth Daily, Education Forum for Asia has collaborated to host the 2010 Nationwide Vocational Education Development Forum—‘Transformation, Promotion, Adaptation- The Road to Vocational Education Reform’, held on March 9th at the Capital Stage. Present at the forum were representatives of different committees, government officials, expert scholars, business owners, along with many Chinese school teachers with their students and some of the students parents. They all were gathered together to share ideas about ‘The National Outline for Long Term Reform and Development of Education’ (asking for input from attendees) (hereby referred to as ‘Long Term Plan’). Once again they are reaching out to all walks of society for their assistance and ideas concerning how to improve vocational education’s ability to attract students, and how to get businesses more involved and more enthusiastic in contributing to education in different ways, etc., by creating a warm and open forum for discussion. The Deputy Director of the Beijing Education and Science Research Institute Wu Yan, Deputy Director General of the Education Department for Vocational Education and Adult Education Liu Jianguo, Former Vice Minister of the Agriculture Ministry, and Chairman of the China Agricultural Education Society Hong Fuceng, President of China News Daily Press Mrs. Xie Xiang, Mr. Chen Yu of the China Association for Promoting Employment, and a representative from the Vocational and Technical Education Center of the Ministry of Education all delivered speeches during the forum. Some Deputies from the CPC, Liaocheng Vocational College of Shandong, and Xi’an Euro-Asia College also took part in the discussion. Education Forum for Asia’s Secretary General, Yao Wang, and Executive Director Liu Xiuhua were attending as representatives of the hosting group.
