The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship ¨C
Hunan Normal University Program
The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship (Hunan Normal University Program-China) is a full scholarship program donated to Education Forum for Asia by Hunan Normal University. Education Forum for Asia and Hunan Normal University administers the recruitment and routine management of the program.
5 full scholarship are provided for the 2008/2009 academic year.
1. Types of Applicants, Duration of Scholarship, and Language of Instruction
1) This program sponsors Chinese Language scholars.
2) Duration of scholarship: 1 year.
3) All courses will be taught in Chinese.
2. Application
Applicants should apply to Education Forum for Asia via the Chinese embassy in their home country or the embassy of their home country in China. Applications will be accepted up to June 1st , 2008.
3. Eligibility
1) Applicants must be non-Chinese nationals in good health.
2) No special requirements for educational Background and Age Limits; neverthless Education Forum for Asia will enroll on the basis of competitive selection.
4. Details of the Scholarship
1) The scholarship covers tuition fees, (inclusive registration fees and book fees) and accommodation (rooms for ordinary apartments only).
2) The University will provide the student with airport pick-up on their initial arrival in Beijing and drop-off on their departure.
3) Insurance fees will be students¡¯ own responsibility.
5. Application Materials
The applicants must provide the following materials correctly and truthfully.
1) filled Application Form for Asia Foreign Study Scholarship (printed by Education Forum for Asia)
2) filled Application Form for Hunan Normal University, Study in China
3) A notarized copy of highest diploma and academic record. If applicants are university students or already employed, they should also provide verification documents. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations. Transcripts (notarized copy) in languages other than Chinese or English must have attached Chinese or English translations.
4) Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English, preferably by applicants¡¯ tutors or employers.
5) A study plan written in English which shall be no less than 400 words.
6) The Foreigner Physical Examination Form filled out in English. Medical examinations must cover all the items listed on the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, official stamp of the hospital, or a stamped photograph of the applicant will be considered invalid. The medical examination results will be valid for 6 months. All applicants are kindly requested to take this factor into consideration when determining the time to take the medical examination.
7) The photocopy of valid passport., the front page
The abovementioned materials should be received by the Education Forum for Asia by the latest June 1st, 2008. Application materials will NOT be returned regardless of whether the applicant is accepted or not.
6. Approval and Notification
1) Education Forum for will review all application materials from the appointed authorities and is authorized to make necessary adjustments on the applied institutions, disciplines and duration of study. Forum will directly contact the application or the applicant guarantor whenever necessary. Qualified applications will be forwarded to Hunan Normal University and the final decision whether to admit the applicants or not will be made. The application will be seen as invalid and will not be processed if the application materials are inconsistent with recruitment regulations, or materials are incomplete.
2) Finalized placements, disciplines and duration of study are, in principle, not to be changed.
3) Education Forum for Asia will have the Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202) sent to the applicant within a week after documents get received.
