APPLICATION PROCEDURES FOR THE ASIA FOREIGN
STUDY SCHOLARSHIP - Master Degree Program of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia
The Asia Foreign Study Scholarship (Master Degree Program of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia) is a partial scholarship program donated to Education Forum for Asia by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia. Education Forum for Asia will administer the recruitment of the program.
SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarship is offered to postgraduate students (Masters Degree) to study at one of the universities in Indonesia for 3 years, consisting of one year of the Indonesian Language and Preparatory Programs and 2 years of the Master Program of their choice.

2. Language
All lectures and thesis writing will be in the Indonesian Language.
3. Scholarship Coverage
a. Financial Assistance
(i) While taking the Indonesian language course and preparatory programs, a student will get Rp. 1,000,000/ month (cost of living only) RMB900
(ii) During their Master Programs in Indonesia, students will get monthly stipend as follows:
- Cost of Living (net) = Rp 1,000,000 (cost of living only) approx. RMB900 approx
- Research Allowance (net) = Rp. 300,000 RMB250 approx.
- Books (net) = Rp. 200,000 RMB170 approx.
(iii) The tuition fee will be covered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia
b. Health Insurance
(i) The students are eligible to check up their health condition at a public health centre referred to by the university.
(ii) Health insurance given to the students is based on the recommended doctor’s statement. In case students should see specialists including dentists, eye specialists and maternity specialists, they should bear all the cost.

REQUIREMENTS
1. The maximum age is 35 years old
2. Copies of the diploma and academic transcripts(translated into English) for bachelor degree holders
3. A TOFEL score of 450 or equivalent (the certificate being attached)
4. A health certificate from recognized medical doctors in the respective home country
5. The 2 completed application forms (Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Application Form, M.O.E Republic of Indonesia Masters Degree Program Application Form)

2. All documents must be received by early April, 2007
3. All successful applicant will be notified by early May, 2007
4. The students should arrive in Jakarta by September 5, 2007
5. The Indonesian Language course will start on September 11, 2007
ARRIVAL IN INDONESIA
1. International Airfare
The Indonesian Government provides a round trip international airfare(economic class) from the international airport of the students’ home countries to Jakarta.
2. Visa
a. The students are expected to have a valid passport for at least 2 years.
b. The students should obtain a VISA from the Indonesian Embassy/Consulate in the home country. It must be at least a social/culture visa. All students are not allowed to use a tourist visa to study in Indonesia because it will raise problems in obtaining permission to stay in Indonesia.
c. The Indonesian Government will issue a stay permit for one year and possibly to be extended for the following year until the study is completed.
