Why did you choose to study in China?
When I was searching for some type of scholarship programs to assist my further study, I came to know about Education Forum for Asia. Then, I applied for the scholarship.
Tell us about your life here in China. Classes, studying, spare time activities, friends etc.
I’m quite happy to be in China. I live in a very peaceful environment in which I can devote my time to study and research. People are friendly. Classes are going smoothly. I use my spare time to get together with my friends and colleagues. I like shopping too. I can get so many beautiful goods here. I allocate one hour every day for exercise. Swimming, running and walking are my favorites.
What has been the greatest challenge for you during your time here?
I had a real problem communicating with people in the early days especially when buying things, so I always had to find a friend. But now I can speak Chinese, so I can go anywhere myself.
What about China has given you the deepest impression?
The peaceful environment, friendly people, and a busy life.
Do you feel that your study in China has been valuable for you? Why?
Of course! As a student of environment engineering, my knowledge has been growing every day. I can understand better techniques and gather more information about the environment which further helps me to implement new techniques in my country.
What have you learned during your time in China?
I have learned so much about my field, environmental engineering. What I learned in my Chinese classes has made me feel comfortable using Chinese in daily life.
What are your future plans?
I want to learn in depth about the construction of wetlands for the treatment of wastewater. I will need one more year of study. After that, I plan to apply what I have learned in my country. Environmental protection remains a major challenge in Nepal.
Any final thoughts?
I want to thank Education Forum for Asia for providing scholarships to students from different Asian countries and hope that it will be able to fulfill the goal of Education for All in Asia. I see great potential in Education Forum for Asia in enhancing education throughout Asia I also hope that the forum can provide even more student exchange program opportunities in the future, especially for those from disadvantaged countries or regions.
