Invitation to 2015 Education Forum for Asia Annual Conference It is our great pleasure to cordially invite you to participate in the 2015 Education Forum for Asia Annual Conference, which will be held from November 6 to 8, 2015. The conference of this year, centered on the theme of “Technology·Intelligence·Future” , will be hosted by New Technology Development Center of China,National Center for Education and Development, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu Municipal Government, and organized by Education Forum for Asia, Chengdu Bureau of Expo Affairs, and Chengdu Education Bureau.
Education Forum for Asia was co-organized by Boao Forum for Asia, China Scholarship Council and UNESCO. It was initiated by H.E. Mr. Fidel V.Ramos, former President, The Philippines, H.E. Mr. Sergey Terechshenko, former Prime Minister, Kazakstan, H.E. Mr. Lee Soo Sung, former Prime Minister, Republic of Korea, H.E. Mr. Kirti Nidhi Bista, former Prime Minister, Nepal, H.E. Ms. Jenny Shipley, former Prime Minister, New Zealand, H.E. Mr. Sheldon Shaeffer, Director, UNESCO Bangkok and H.E. Mr. Victor Ng, Chairman of Macao Foundation in December, 2003. Since its founding, EFA has successfully held ten annual conferences, the initiative meeting included. Aimed at "Building Bridges for Asian Education", Education Forum was established as a high-level platform for Asian high-ranking educators, specialists, and scholars to discuss education cooperation and development issues.
Technology is changing the world and developing technology is a strategic action that enables the humankind to rise to the global challenges and achieve sustainability. Education has a direct bearing not only on today but also on the future of all nations. Through education, talents that drive the social progress are cultivated; through education, we disseminate and upgrade what has been known, explore what is yet to be known; through education, we are able to understand and change the world so as to create a bright future for the mankind. In the 2015 annual conference, politicians, Nobel Prize laureates, foreign diplomats to China, renowned scholars, and representatives from educational institutions, international organizations, enterprises and media outlets will be invited to give their insights and exchange their views over hot topics such as smart cities, creative industries, information application to education, construction of science and technology museums, ecological technology, new technology and youth development. In addition, Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Award Ceremony, Award Ceremony of Youth Technological Innovation Contest, charity banquet and local school visiting will also be arranged on the sidelines of the annual conference. We hope that the convening of this conference will provide strategic options for the implementation of innovation-driven development initiatives, make clear the features of technological development and the major trend of the future, advance the further application of information technology in education, introduce the cutting-edge technologies and managerial expertise of the world and generate the driving force for the talent cultivation and social progress.
