Since its founding, EFA has successfully held eleven annual conferences, the initiative meeting included. Aimed at "Building Bridges for Asian Education", Education Forum was established as a high-level platform for Asian high-ranking educators, specialists, and scholars to discuss education cooperation and development issues. For thousands of years, the Silk Road Spirit” peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit” has been passed from generation to generation, promoted the progress of human civilization, and contributed greatly to the prosperity and development of the countries along the Silk Road. Symbolizing communication and cooperation between the East and the West, the Silk Road Spirit is a historic and cultural heritage shared by all countries around the world. In the 21st century, education and innovation are our two main ways to further our cooperation and promote development. It is more important for us to carry on the Silk Road Spirit in face of a connecting and changing world. In last year’s annual conference, we launched “One Belt One Road Chengdu Education Initiative” and has attracted the attention from both state and private sectors. This year we’ll continue our discussion with politicians, Nobel Prize laureates, foreign diplomats to China, renowned international experts in technology, education, culture and innovation fields, and representatives from educational institutions, enterprises and media outlets. Topics will include science education, international education, STEAM innovation, pre-school education, Internet Plus and art education etc. In the meantime, “One Belt One Road Think Tank Seminar”, Asia Foreign Study Scholarship Award Ceremony, Award Ceremony of 12th Asian Students Photography Contest and local school visiting will also be arranged on the sidelines of the annual conference. We hope that the convening of this conference will promote exchanges and cooperation in education development between the China and the countries along the Silk Road, bring a new phase to the cooperation in the fields of education, science, technology and cultural exchanges.
